The Catholic parishes of St Mary’s Fanavolty and St Columba’s Massmount have now waymarked three walks as part of the Colmcille 1500 celebrations this year. Copies of the full brochure are usually available at St Colmcille’s Well at Carrowblagh (24 on the map above). The red route is more or less the reverse of my own description of route 27, while the other green and yellow routes are shorter but equally enjoyable. The brochure itself is excellent and gives comprehensive information about all sites associated with the saint on the Fanad peninsula.
